We'd like to bring to everyones attention updates and changes in the Native Owners Group (NOG) forum "Terms of Service" agreement.

First, a brief history of the NOG:
NOG was first formed by an independent Native Watercraft dealer from Texas. When that dealer closed it's doors the NOG was "shopped" around for a new owner. To our knowledge, no one or group was interested in purchasing it. Get:Outdoors, (current owner) another independently owned Native Watercraft dealer, at that time purchased the forum.

Who operates the forum?
You'll notice on the forum homepage "Welcome" and the "Terms of Service" agreement, the Native Owners Group is NOT owned and operated by Native Watercraft, but by Get:Outdoors.

Updates to the "Terms of Service" can be seen under "Site Terms", specifically items 10 and 11, linked here http://www.nativeown...p.com/SiteTerms as well as here.

10. Competitor links. Due to the costs associated with the purchase of the NOG Forum, it’s operation and maintenance; Get:Outdoors stipulates that users do not place links to Native Watercraft products, sales or services offered by other dealers.

Additional Comments - Get:Outdoors encourages members to shop local whenever possible. The financial benefit to local communities and independent business operators from doing so is fundamental to our business model. Advertising; you'll notice the NOG forum pages lack advertisement banners from various companies. In large part, we're able to avoid this by proceeds from members shopping with us, which helps offset the forum purchase price, web hosting, software licensing and technical maintenance fees.

There are a number of Native Watercraft Pro-Staff through out the country, some having associations with other Native Watercraft dealers. We welcome them as well as other members mentioning their appreciation of their local dealers, just not with web links as stated.

11. Links in signatures must follow these guidelines: Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Get:Outdoors and it is not an affiliate program link for Get:Outdoors or any other affiliate program. Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed. A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate NOG community standards.

6. Obscene or abusive language.
We ask members to keep language at a PG level and absolutely towards other members. We strongly believe the site as a whole benefits from the absence of profane language as the use of it, most times, only spurs along heightened levels of profanity. So if something bothers you enough and you feel profanity is the only way to get your point across send us an email through the link at the bottom of the page.

On another note. We are not of the opinion that everyones opinion, nor the creation of Native Watercraft products are always in perfection to everyone. You may read someones opinion, statement or belief and think it inaccurate or you may think a product is the worst ever. We only ask that if you want to offer criticism, do it in a constructive manner, either PM a member or carefully construct a comment.

Thankfully, there are very few instances where admin or moderator interjection is necessary, for that we applaud and thank the members of this forum.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us through the "contact us" link, again, at the bottom of the page.

Many thanks to Get:Outdoors for continuing to make this forum available, and a special thanks to all the admins and moderators for making sure it's a happy place. I used to be a moderator for an Aruba travel forum, and it became a 24/7 job to fight off the spammers and flame/vulgar posts. This place is a safe haven of knowledge and fun. THANK YOU
