I just wanna know if the seat base and seat will fit my 2013 U12? And if so when can I get one?

It will not fit, the bottom has changed a bunch on the new boat. The pontoons are now flattened out and are wider and the tunnel is narrower. The new boat will not be available till January 2014.

Any chance of getting pictures of the seat in the "high position", in the seat photo it appears to be in the low position. Also some pictures of exactly how the seat attaches & adjusts

The seat pictured is in the low position. I don't have a high seat shot but here's a photo that better shows the seat and mount out of kayak.

Can someone confirm the weight capacity of the FX 15? One retailer's site listed it as 600 lbs.

Wonder if the Slayer 12 front hatch cover is the same for the new Ultimate 12?

The Native Watercraft site lists the following capacities:

Manta Ray 14: 375 lbs
Mariner 12.5: 400 lbs
Slayer 14.5: 450 lbs
Ultimate 14.5 tandem: 450 lbs
Ultimate 16 tandem: 600 lbs (listed here)

The Get:Outdoors site lists the "projected" capacity of the Slayer 13 Propel as 400-450 lbs.

Based on the above info, I would think the FX15 would come in around 450-500 lbs. But that's just a guess.

The two hatches are not identical so they will not be interchangeable.

600 lbs. is the preliminary estimated capacity of the FX 15. It's wider than the 14.5 by 1" and had a deeper beam by 1". Of course it's a few inces longer as well.

Currently there are only bow covers available. A cover on the 12 stern would certainly minimize any vertical storage of crates/rods. The 14 stern might be the more likely candidate if one is made. Maybe the question is worthy of a poll?

Can the seat be turned backwards on the mount allowing face-to-face fishing in tandem setup? This arrangement is very appealing when fishing with kids.

The seat can be reversed but the front edge of the seat will be lower than the back. Probably not a huge deal for a child. The seat retainer also is on the back, intended to face forward so it would be a good idea to add some additional way to secure the seat to the platform just in case.

Do you know if the adjustable thwart will go past the foot rests?

It will go past (forward) of the foot braces. In this photo you can better see the thwart and its attachment to the groove track. As it's shown, it has about 3" more inches of forward travel. The foot braces are at or very close to the end of travel, forward.

So far, no. But it's definitely being encouraged.

Love it! Only question is, like the 12 has a hard bow cover, any plans for the 15 to have something similar? Thinking big waves and no front cover is asking for a swamped boat. Keep up the great work Native - love my Ultimate (and supporting local companies too).
